What a crazy and hectic time it has been over this year! We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at home, for those who are working at the frontline for all of us, for those waiting to get married and for those who have put their business on hold. Thank you for keeping our country a safe place! Remember, love isn’t cancelled!
With this Covid 19 pandemic, it’s hard to know when we will be available again. Many of us have been notified of at least one cancelled or postponed wedding, and I know that many of you guys are starting to feel a bit anxious during this tough time. So, I just wanted to reach out to all of my brides that you are not alone, bridal designers like myself and other wedding vendors are also among the first to cancel bridal shows and exhibitions due to this pandemic.
Unlike traditional retail, shopping for a wedding dress is still an in person experience and “yes” it is very personal. This experience often takes multiple appointments just to find the right dress, lace, fabric, style, vibe and a feel of it. The list goes on. In our time of social distancing, it is just impossible for designers to have new orders coming in since showrooms and boutiques are temporarily closed. The one upside is we need to use our time wisely during this lockdown. Fortunately, we are still able to arrange a small group meeting up to 5 people and so, this makes it possible for the bride and the designer to meet for a fitting and perhaps discuss more details on creating one’s dream dress.
The wedding industry has been hit hard like other industries, and many of us are venturing out to the online and virtual platform in order to stay connected with the clients. I would like to use this opportunity to announce that we have just relaunched our new website in September and would love to get your feedback on it.
Lastly, we are still running our little intimate Bridal Fittings in our Manly Studio on Fridays and weekends only, anytime from 10am -5pm. We are so grateful to have up to 5 guests per session but still following the 1.5m social distancing and hygiene rules.
